Meet the Team

At Studio Solent, our teachers care deeply about how you feel in the space — not just how you perform. Every class is taught with an understanding that every body is different, and that movement should support you, not push you beyond your limits.

We believe yoga and movement should feel grounding, welcoming and ego-free. There’s no pressure to “keep up”, look a certain way, or force yourself into shapes that don’t feel right. Our teachers are here to guide, support and meet you where you are — creating classes that feel safe, empowering and genuinely nourishing.

Holland White

Studio Owner, Yoga and Sculpt Teacher

Hello

I’m Holland the owner of Studio Solent and your teacher!

Movement is my home, and I know first hand how important it is to create space for both your body and mind. Yoga is a journey I’ve been deeply curious about for years, and in November 2024, I travelled to Bali and became a certified yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance. Before that, I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Dance Science: Health and Wellbeing in 2021, followed by an MA in Dance: Advanced Practice in 2022. I'm also a certified and practising Personal Trainer, and Dance Teacher (Safe in Dance International, SiDi Cert 2022).

Specialising my knowledge in women's health is very important to me, and I'm always continuing my learning. In 2025 I became a DL female health lead, completing education with The Well HQ on 'The Female Body Course', and 'The Female Body - Menopause Course'. Currently I am working on my Pre-Natal yoga teaching qualification.

Studios have always felt like home to me, and I’m beyond excited and grateful to now share that feeling with you. Over the past two years, I’ve worked as a Personal Trainer on the gym floor, where I’ve witnessed the trans-formative power of tailored movement. My clients—many of whom come to me dealing with the effects of a hectic lifestyle, injury recovery, and poor posture—have found new energy and relief through personalised alignment coaching. Combining strength with mobility, and infusing joy in movement and breath control, is key to unlocking your body’s potential and feeling your absolute best. Yoga, with its ancient wisdom, is a lifelong practice. It’s not only about the physical postures; it’s about spiritual growth and self-awareness. Yoga, dance, the gym and the communities I'm part of have taught me how to show up in life as the best version of myself, and I am excited to guide you on your journey to do the same.

Holly Banks

Pilates Teacher

Hey I'm Holly!

I’m a Level 3 qualified Mat Pilates instructor and am currently completing my Reformer training to continue to expand my knowledge in Pilates. I’m passionate about all types of movement — whether that’s strength training, running, HYROX training or of course Pilates, I love the positive impact movement can have on both your body and mind and believe it's vital for longevity.

What I love most about Pilates is that it encourages you to slow down, switch off from the constant distractions of everyday life, and connect with your body. For me, it’s a chance to step away from my phone and challenge my body in different ways.

My classes focus on building strength and confidence whilst moving with correct alignment alongside using the correct breathing techniques to support controlled movement. Any ability welcome, see you in class!

Hi, I'm Lydia, the owner and therapist behind Lydia's Holistic Glow.

As someone who is deaf and relies on lip reading, accessibility is at the heart of everything I do. I understand that every client has different needs, and I strive to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable and supported.

With over three months of running Lydia's Holistic Glow, my aim is to provide a peaceful escape from the demands of everyday life. My treatments are naturally carried out in a calm, quiet atmosphere, allowing you to fully switch off, relax, and leave your worries behind.

Alongside my work as a massage and beauty therapist, I'm also a professional dancer. My background has given me a strong understanding of muscle recovery, tension, and the importance of looking after both your body and mind, which I bring into every massage treatment.

Treatments available:

• Swedish Massage – 30, 60 or 90 minutes

• Indian Head Massage – 30 or 45 minutes

Whether you're looking to ease muscle tension, reduce stress, or simply enjoy some well-deserved self-care, I look forward to welcoming you to Lydia's Holistic Glow.

Sound and Self

Hi, I’m Laura

I live in Waltham Chase, Hampshire with my husband, daughters and our two dogs. I grew up on the Isle of Wight, which probably explains my love of the sea and why Im happiest on to the coast.

Alongside running Sound & Self, I work full-time, and have a beautifully wild toddler and older teenage daughter! so I understand how easy it is to get caught up in the busyness of life and forget to make time for yourself.

After experiencing burnout through both work and personal circumstances, I discovered yoga, retreats and eventually sound healing. What I loved most was how sound baths allowed my busy brain to finally switch off and be completely present.

How I felt during and post sound bath was so relaxing for me that I wanted to create that same space for others and so I trained as an IPHM accredited sound healer.

Sound & Self is built around a simple idea:
✨ Your time. Your space. Your self. ✨

My hope is that whenever you join me, you leave feeling calmer, lighter, more grounded than when you arrived.

Vanessa Jones

Yoga Teacher

I’m Ness, a yoga teacher based in Portsmouth, and my journey with yoga began in 2022 in the most unexpected way.. at a simple gym class. What I thought would be a relaxing hour quickly became something much more meaningful. Yoga challenged my body, steadied my mind, and gave me a sense of calm I didn’t even realise I’d been missing.

Wanting to explore more, I joined a yoga studio in Southsea, and that’s where everything shifted. I fell in love not just with the movement, but with the philosophy and intention behind the practice. Those 60 minutes on the mat became my sanctuary, a space where I could breathe, move, and express myself without judgement. Yoga helped me reconnect with my body, quiet my mind, and feel grounded in a way I hadn’t felt in years.

As I kept practising, I noticed real transformation. My strength grew, my mind softened, and I felt more like myself than ever. I knew I wanted to share that feeling with others. So at the start of 2026, I took a leap, left my job, and travelled to Bali to complete my RYT200 Yoga Teacher Training.

Now, I teach from a place of authenticity, compassion, and lived experience. My classes are designed to be accessible, grounding, and supportive. A space where you can move at your own pace, reconnect with yourself, and feel safe to simply be. Yoga changed my life in ways I never expected, and I’m here to guide others toward that same sense of freedom, strength, and inner calm.
